Our Mission

Seeking a just and sustainable world, we Warriors for Climate Justice work to actively address the accelerating climate crisis that threatens us, our children, those who will follow, and all other life on our beloved planet.

Overview

A broad “Climate-focused Community” composed largely of individuals and groups affiliated with the MKP community. It’s purpose is three-fold:

• to raise awareness and to exchange updates regarding the wide-ranging and increasingly grave consequences of the climate crisis;
• to provide a place for individuals to learn about, to connect, and to process, the direct (and indirect) impacts, both physical and emotional, which they have experienced, or will likely experience in the future;
• to offer opportunities for members to step into their roles as responsible and accountable individuals, taking action to deal with these impacts as part of a larger, supportive community. 

Core to this community are MKP values of Accountability, Authenticity, Compassion, Generosity, Integrity, Leadership, Intercultural Competency, and Respect.

Our Goals

• To heighten awareness about the urgency of the climate crisis, engaging with and inspiring people to take positive actions to mitigate the destruction of our biosphere, and to preserve the viability, beauty, and biodiversity for future generations.
• To support the youth and others, particularly the most vulnerable, on the frontline of the battle to curb the climate crisis.
• To share our accumulated wisdom to leave our planet a more sustainable and just place than we currently find it.

Warriors4ClimateJustice Short Climate Statement

Warriors4ClmateJustice proudly and urgently affirms its role as earth steward, and commits as an organization of men to serve the needs of the earth and its human and non-human inhabitants in the midst of our current, complex ecological crisis.

This means:

1. We will educate ourselves about the needs of the planet and her inhabitants, and about the damage that we humans are causing.
2. We pledge to take both individual and collective actions, big and small, to address the crisis we have created. We will put particular emphasis on minimizing the harm to disadvantaged communities and nonhuman species.
3. We commit to acting as good ancestors, considering the effects on the next seven generations as we make today's decisions.
4. In MKP we have learned powerful tools: sitting in circles, telling our truths, being aware of our emotions and shadows, setting challenging stretches, and living our missions. With these tools, we will build compassionate and resilient communities essential for navigating the challenging times ahead
